|Asian Chicken Wing Drumettes
3 lbs (1.5 kg) chicken wing drumettes (about 40 pieces)
1/2 cup (125 mL)E.D.SMITH® NO SUGAR ADDED SYRUP
1/3 cup (75 mL) ketchup
1/4 cup (50 mL) light in salt soy sauce
1 tsp (5 mL) minced fresh gingerroot
1 (1) clove garlic, minced
3/4 tsp (4 mL) crushed red pepper flakes
1. Trim any visible fat from chicken. Place in a single layer on rack of broiler pan and broil, 5 inches (12 cm) from heat source, 10 minutes or until cooked through. Turn once or twice during cooking. Cool slightly. Remove and discard skin.
2. Combine E.D.SMITH NO SUGAR ADDED SYRUP, ketchup, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes in a large saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat 5 minutes or until sauce has thickened slightly.
3. Reduce heat to low, add chicken and continue cooking until wings are hot and glazed. Stir occasionally.
4. Makes approximately 40 appetizers
